About The Magazines. The Lossie Local was first published in May 2008, and is now a well-established local magazine. The aims of the magazine are:
– To provide affordable advertising for businesses with small or limited advertising budgets.
– To provide an additional advertising avenue for businesses with existing advertising campaigns.
– To produce a free community magazine with relevant and useful local information, including interesting articles and editorials to ensure it gets read in-depth.
– All profits donated to charity (the Autumn/Winter 17 Lossie Local raised just over £1000).
Circulation and Distribution. Each magazine has a distribution of 3500 copies, hand-delivered by a community group to the main residential areas in Lossiemouth. A £500 donation is made to the group delivering the magazines. (Please note that not every single house with a Lossiemouth postcode will receive a magazine. Approximately 3200 houses will receive a copy, then the remainder will get left out and about for people to pick up).
Magazine Size. The magazine is A5 portrait size, and is capped at 48 pages. There will therefore be a limit on advertising space to ensure a good ratio between community information, editorial and adverts.
Community Focus. All of the community news, events and editorial included in the magazine is done so free of charge or at reduced rates (see ‘Community’ tab), a great way for local organisations to promote themselves.
It’s Win Win all round! Charity and community groups get great exposure and local businesses get effective, affordable advertising.
